A fantastic, Griffith Park playground offering children and parents a safe, fenced in play area with plenty of shade, seating, and room to run.

Located in Los Feliz, directly across from the Greek Theater and around the corner from the Griffith Observatory, the Vermont Canyon Play Area provides park-goers several picnic tables, playground benches, and a lovely blanket-friendly / dog friendly grassy knoll.

In addition to the theater, the park also butts up against the Roosevelt Golf Course and hidden Vermont Canyon Tennis Complex. Just beyond the golf course parking lot, there’s a charming clubhouse cafe called Franklin’s (with a great patio) serving burgers, tacos, sandwiches, etc.

While in the area, consider checking out Cedar Grove, Barnsdall Art Park, Fern Dell Nature Trail, and these other enjoyable Griffith Park activities.
