Address: 15151 San Fernando Mission Blvd, Mission Hills, CA
One of the San Fernando Valley’s best kept secrets – located less than 15 minutes north of Universal Studios – filled with elaborate artwork, artifacts, and religious relics.
The San Fernando Mission (or Mission San Fernando Rey de España) is California’s 17th mission, and home to the largest freestanding adobe structure in the state (the Convento Building); as well as burial site of Hollywood’s beloved Bob Hope.
Cost to enter the grounds & buildings is $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for children (7-15). Parking is free.
Once inside, there are 12 points of interest to explore. All are really neat & worthwhile to see, but highlights are the Old Mission Church, Madonna Room, Workshops, Bob Hope Memorial Garden, Wine Cellar, re-creation rooms, Mayordomo’s House, and Historical museum.
A great spot for families, photographers, first dates, friendly adventures, teachers, and tourists.
