Address: 5400 Black Oak Dr, Hollywood, CA
A really beautiful, shaded nature trail just 2 1/2 miles east of the iconic Chinese Theater.
Certainly one of the most tranquil footpaths in Los Angeles – a quarter mile long, complete with redwood trees, a flowing natural spring, crayfish, turtles, garden bridges, benches, lush plant life, and more.
Perfect for baby strollers, dog walks, children, the elderly, photographers, and fans of meditative nature.
Upon exiting the trail, you can continue up a short distance to the woodsy picnic area, playground, restrooms, Griffith Observatory, and The Trails – a charming cafe serving delicious pies, pastries, sandwiches, coffee, etc.
Scroll down to watch a video on Fern Dell, from KCET’s iconic TV show “Visiting with Huell Howser”.
While in the area, consider checking out Fern Dell Playground (a few hundred yards away), Griffith Observatory, Bronson Caves, Funko Hollywood, Barnsdall Art Park, The Greek Theater, Vermont Canyon Play Area, and Griffith Park’s Cedar Grove.
